Non-Medical Prescriber – Alcohol & Drug Dependency, Blackpool

Location - Blackpool
Salary - £48,000 - £51,000 (based on experience)
Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm) with some late evenings & Saturday mornings on rotation

As a Non-Medical Prescriber, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering person-centred prescribing across their service in Blackpool. You’ll work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to provide expert clinical care, safe prescribing, and leadership - all while helping clients achieve lasting recovery.

Your Role As An NMP

As a Non-Medical Prescriber with my partner, you'll 

  • Provide clinical prescribing across various service locations in Blackpool.
  • Assess and prescribe treatment for clients undergoing community alcohol detox and structured drug treatment.
  • Lead on clinical supervision, mentorship, and training for nurses, recovery practitioners, and trainee NMPs.
  • Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary meetings to shape personalised care plans.
  • Ensure safe and effective prescribing in line with national guidelines and governance standards.
  • Support service development, implementing best practices and new treatment approaches.
  • Be involved in CQC inspections, audits, and clinical governance to maintain high standards of care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered NMC Nurse or GPhC Pharmacist with Independent Prescriber status.
  • Minimum 3 year's experience in substance misuse, addiction treatment, or a similar clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of controlled drug prescribing and addiction recovery pathways.
  • A compassionate, person-centred approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and support colleagues while working independently.
  • Willingness to work Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm), with some late evenings and Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites in Blackpool as needed.
