*PSL- Preferred Suppliers List
For those who aren't aware what a PSL is. Its a list of hand-selected recruitment consultants who work on an organisations live vacancies until they are filled. This PSL may consist of 2 agencies or 10. It's down to the company to decide how many they are willing to have working on their roles.
As an organisation do you have a PSL in place?
Why do you have a PSL?
And are you getting value from your agencies?
The decision to choose a select few recruitment agencies can work with or against you. You may have built great relationships with your chosen agencies, and be accustomed to the service they provide, and thatโs great! However, what if their support isnโt innovative and cannot take your business to the next level?
When I talk about value, I'm referring to support!
As a business, we see โsupportโ as a multifaceted terminology for a rounded service, that is consistently evolving and adapting to the market surroundings. Support with
Vital market information
Competitor analysis
Candidate trends
Strengthening your EVP and support with your attraction strategy
The question is- Do you only hear from your PSL agencies when a role comes available for them to fill?
If you answered 'Yes' to the above question, I would really start to question the strength of your PSL 'partners'.
Since heading up ThePharmaPeople I've had several conversations with current clients and prospective clients where they have or had previously had a PSL in play. The feedback presented time and time again is that the PSL partners only present themselves when an opportunity to fill a vacancy becomes available, and never to provide market intel or other nuggets of knowledge as agencies we get from our candidates and industry experts.
In our opinion this isnโt a valid and proactive agency-to-organisation relationship. There is no value for you. The ultimate goal for ThePharmaPeople is that you fill your vacancies with support from us.
I'm a huge believer that when we engage with our client we're engaging in a partnership, and it should work in both ways. We offer as much support as is humantly possible to benefit you and your team. Likewise you present opportunties for ThePharmaPeople to stretch or skills in filling your vacancies. Getting Life Science and Pharmaceutical professionals to choose you is our best feeling!
We put a strong emphasis on being consultative and also being industry experts. We have no issue in sharing information that you may not have access to but is so valuable to allow you to make the right decision and more importantly capture the best talent. Some of this information reflects negatively on you, which allows you the opportunity to change and evolve to become a more appealing employer to your prospective recruits. All conversations are had- the good the bad and the ugly.
Believe it or not, I've given market information, competitor analysis and candidate trends to companies that I haven't even engaged with. CRAZY RIGHT?! Surely the agencies that are on your PSL's should be doing this as standard...
If you're not getting the above from your PSL or recruitment agency, then letโs have a chat!
